The skin renews itself continuously and imperceptibly. The instant we see an excess of desquamated cells, we are undoubtedly facing a desquamative process. The term PITYRIASIS, used in trichology to define an exfoliation of epidermal cells of the stratum corneum, is thus synonymous with DANDRUFF.

There are different flaking processes; enumerate the most common here, and we can treat them.

DANDRUFF TREATMENTS

Pityriasis Simplex Capitis (Dry Dandruff)

Remember, the appearance of your scalp can be a reflection of your overall health. If you notice white-ash plates that are easily desquamative and remain  attached to the hair shaft, along with a crisp and slick scalp, it could be a sign of an underlying issue. Being aware of these signs can help you take proactive steps to maintain your health.

The causes are various, but this desquamative process is usually associated with nerve problems, lack of vitamin A, inappropriate shampoos, inadequate water intake, and washing hair with water above 37 degrees. It also produces PITYRIASIS SIMPLEX CAPITIS.

Pityriasis Steatiosdes (Grease Dandruff)

Excess sebum secretion and the presence of yeast (Pityrosporum ovale) in the scalp can produce a yellowish-gold plate that is too stubborn and hard to desquamative, causing further inflammation, redness, and itching.

Please remember that the plate that the plate's edges are very well defined, which will help us distinguish the PITYRIASIS STEATOIDES of dermatitis.

The causes, as in the abo, as in the above process, are diverse: nervous system disorders, abnormal percentage of Pityrosporum ovale, immunological, inadequate diets, sebaceous hypersecretion, water temperature too high, and inappropriate shampoos.

Psoriasis

Like seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis is a dermatosis generally chronic.

It manifests as a thickening of the skin with adherent scales of a pearly color, very well demarcated. The nails are dotted like a sewing thimble.

It affects both men and women, with dermatitis having periods of improvement and periods of exacerbation, usually worse in dry seasons.

The most common reflex zones are the elbows, knees, nails, and head, but they can be spread throughout the body.

Although the causes are not known, they usually occur in people with nervous disorders, infections, and chronic alcoholism; it is also associated with certain medications and drugs and may have a genetic basis, and they are normally a family history of this problem.

Seborrheic Dermatitis

We must first know that this problem still needs to be solved. Never, ever, can we say that we can cure dermatitis; in any case, we will look smooth, clean, and calm, but never cured. Dermatitis is within a group of diseases (problems) considered of unknown origin, and not knowing the origin, we have no solution.

It is characterized by poorly demarcated red plaques with adherent greasy scales and irritation with excessive sweating. The reflex zones are usually the hairline, eyebrows, nostrils,  retro auricular area, and, more refractory cases, mustache, and chin area.

As for causes, although it is not correct, we will say that there is a breakdown of fat, which usually occurs in people with emotional disturbances; there are hormonal factors, diet, birth, and dry seasons like the summer often have a tendency to appear.
